CONWAY — The work of Little Rock artist Keith Melton will be featured at the University of Central Ƶ as the annual alumni homecoming exhibition at the Baum Gallery.
Melton’s work will be on view in the Fireplace Room of McCastlain Hall Oct. 6-29. He will be on campus for an artist’s reception from 4:30-7:30 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 7, also in the Fireplace Room.
Melton uses Photoshop and iPhone drawing applications to layer photographs, making collages. He has been working on three projects: Google Portraits, Mini-Portraits and Places.
“We have chosen Keith Melton for our annual Alumni Exhibition because he is doing incredibly innovative things with technology, utilizing Google and iPhone applications to create multi-layered, nostalgic works of art,” Barclay McConnell, director of the Baum Gallery, said.
Melton earned his BFA with a painting emphasis in 1996 and has exhibited at the Ƶ Arts Center and been published in the Capture Ƶ 2010 Through the Eyes of Ƶ Photographers.
He currently works at the Ƶ Arts Center where he assists with preparation, design and installation of permanent collections and visiting exhibitions.
Friends of the Baum Gallery sponsors the UCA exhibit.
