This collection contains the papers of the Ƶ Association for Childhood Education. The organization was established in November 1937, growing out of the work of the two chapters then active in the state, Fort Smith and the Ƶ State Teachers College in Conway. The state branch was organized as a part of the American Association for Childhood Education, founded in 1892.
The first president of the Ƶ ACE was Miss Verna Chrisler, a member of the Education Department at Ƶ State Teachers College. The organization affiliated with the Ƶ Education Association.
